(session paraphrased)
This lady argues with Bashar for the validity of her negative beliefs. She asks him how to stay positive and well, no matter what happens in your life?
Bashar answers that there is no built in meaning to anything. Everything is neutral so why not infuse it with a positive meaning?
She replies that she gets thrown off by unexpected surprises.
Bashar answers emphatically. No you don’t! You throw yourself off by assuming that there is something wrong in the surprise being there. Surprises are what give you opportunities, in an unexpected way, so your life isn’t boring.
Bashar goes on to say to use your imagination and creativity and don’t see surprises as obstacles. Define them as guideposts that will actually show you where you need to go. Define it however it works for you. It is only your definition that determines how you experience anything.
He tells her that she has a built-in assumption, that crazy equals bad. and asks, why can’t things be crazy good?
He suggests we should watch our language. And watch how we define things. That’s what determines how we experience our reality. Listen to what comes out of your mouth and say, wait a minute, it doesn’t have to mean that. It can mean something else.
Create the definition that works for you and the universe will respond to it, because it doesn’t have a mind of its own. The Universe will never contradict you. Everything you experience is the result of what you believe to be true about yourself.
If the universe is capable of supporting you in a negative idea, it will support you in believing in a positive one. The surprise is actually a blessing, giving you an opportunity to change your definition in order to get a different effect.
She replies that she has home work to do and Bashar suggests that she make it home play instead of home work.
